The OverRIDE device plugs directly into your vehicle’s OBD-II port, which is usually located under the dashboard near the driver’s seat. Installation takes less than 30 seconds, requires no tools, and does not modify the vehicle in any way.
Yes. Parents can choose exactly which apps are restricted while the vehicle is in motion. Distracting apps like texting, social media, and games can be locked, while essential apps (navigation, music, emergency calls) remain accessible.
OverRIDE connects to the vehicle through the OBD-II port and automatically detects when the car is moving. Once motion is detected, the app restrictions activate automatically—and turn off when the trip ends.
No manual switching required.
Yes, for emergency purposes only, the driver can disable OverRIDE mode during their current trip. This will immediately alert the Admin/Parent on the account of what happened. OverRIDE is designed to help prevent distracted driving, we give the driver a manual bypass in case of emergencies.
OverRIDE is designed for safety, not surveillance. It does not act like a live GPS tracker on their phone at all times. Instead, we use GPS to track and record all trips driven by the user so we can provide a map of the route and analytics for Driving Scores. Once the trip is over, OverRIDE does not track the location of the child at any capacity.
OverRIDE works with most all vehicles made after 1996, which is when OBD-II ports became standard in the United States. If your car has an OBD-II port (this is where Advance Auto Parts, or a similar company, would insert their tool to check for Check Engine Light codes), OverRIDE will work for you!
Yes. OverRIDE includes a low monthly subscription that allows the OBD device to have cellular network connection. This allows the OBD to send data in real time to ensure our system is working for you. Most importantly, if the driver unplugs the OBD, we are able to send a "Tamper Alert" to the Admin/Parent using cellular network services.
OverRIDE is built with safety-first exceptions. Calls are always allowed for emergency purposes, and the driver can manually bypass OverRIDE mode in case of an emergency. In the case of a manual bypass, the Admin/Parent on the account is immediately notified of the occurrence.
